I love the staff they have The times I have gone there, the staff is so welcoming, well served and I truly feel they value you as a customer
Overview
Walking into City Salads feels like a small win for anyone who wants something fresh without the fuss. Tucked at 120 W White Park Dr, Nogales, AZ 85621, United States, this diner-style spot has quietly become a go-to for locals who care about flavor but donβt want to overthink lunch. The first time I stopped by was after a long afternoon running errands, and I remember thinking Iβd just grab something light. Instead, I ended up staying longer than planned, chatting with the staff while watching a steady stream of regulars come in for their usual orders.
The menu leans heavily into fresh salads, wraps, and bowls, yet it doesnβt feel restrictive or bland. One thing that stood out during my visits is how customizable everything is. You pick your greens, add proteins like grilled chicken or beans, and finish with house-made dressings that taste like someone actually cared while making them. I once watched a staff member explain to a customer how they prep ingredients every morning to keep textures crisp, which aligns with what nutrition research from the USDA shows about freshness preserving both nutrients and taste. That attention to process shows up on the plate.
What really builds trust here is consistency. Iβve eaten here multiple times over several months, and the quality never dipped. Reviews around town echo that same experience, often mentioning friendly service and reliable portions. In a border city where quick meals are everywhere, itβs refreshing to find a place that balances speed with intention. According to data from the CDC, only about one in ten Americans eat enough vegetables daily, and places like this make it easier to close that gap without feeling like a chore.
Thereβs also a subtle expertise behind the simplicity. The way proteins are seasoned, the balance between crunch and softness in the bowls, and the portion control all suggest someone understands how people actually eat. I once spoke with a regular who works in healthcare, and she mentioned recommending the place to coworkers because it makes healthier choices more accessible during busy shifts. That kind of word-of-mouth doesnβt happen by accident.
Beyond the food, the location plays a big role in its appeal. Being centrally placed makes it an easy stop whether youβre on a lunch break or just passing through Nogales. Parking is straightforward, and the casual diner atmosphere means you never feel rushed. Families, solo diners, and small groups all seem equally comfortable here, which says a lot about how the space is run.
One phrase Iβve heard more than once from other diners is fresh without trying too hard, and it fits. Another customer summed it up perfectly when they called it a reliable healthy stop, which mirrors my own experience. Still, itβs fair to acknowledge a limitation: if youβre looking for an extensive hot-food menu or late-night hours, this might not be the spot. The focus is clearly on daytime meals and lighter fare, and thatβs part of its identity.
Overall, this place works because it understands its role in the community. It doesnβt chase trends or overcomplicate things. Instead, it offers solid food, clear choices, and a welcoming vibe that keeps people coming back. The steady stream of positive reviews, combined with my own repeat visits, makes it easy to recommend for anyone curious about where to find a satisfying salad in Nogales without sacrificing taste or comfort.

Employees are very friendly and helpful. Ingredients are really fresh and good quality. Prices are a little high for what you get though.
If you like salads. This is the place. Large portions. Fresh toppings. Great dressing.
Great service and everything is delicious! Surprise they sell poke bowls and hamburgers. 100% recommended.
They actually have a really good burger. Still one of my favorite burger spots. It just. Feels so unnatural to buy a hamburger at a salad shop. Diablo or sirloin, you can't go wrong.
I go out of my way to swing by City Salads when I'm in town. The portions are very filling, and the veggies are always fresh for the salads and wraps. The lunch rush can be a little heavy, but there is plenty of seating inside. Staff are super patient and helpful. I also appreciate the rotation selection of small desserts that I usually can't help but try. The cookies on my last visit were great.
The food is good and fresh but overpriced . The combo should cost about 10$ top price not 14$ . Staff was polite and friendly. With some proper market research with pricing in comparable restaurants and pricing your menu accordingly you would see much more success.
